I love this event and it ran from 23rd September thru to the 30th September which is the long weekend. The charity auction on the Wednesday night was fantastic and the prizes were amazing from quilts to individual items to boutique beer to a custom made fire pit – hey we even videod Steve Langley rapping…
Now as I said before there was some great raffle prizes and also a demonstration by horse trainer Mark Langley who was just brilliant.
Now this was a week of horse riding, country music and of course raising monies for a worthy event – Cancer Research through the Cancer Council of NSW and…. it was a week of catching up with old friends, making new friends and generally having a great time.
Above is Mark Phillis from Harris Farms who was invaluable during the week and below are a couple of his Icelandic Horses he breeds – absolutely brilliant.
It was as per previous years an outstanding success – this event is run by the Cumberland Trail Horse Riders Club and a week doesn’t seem that long. I reckon it could have gone for longer tho it is hard on the organisers and a big credit must go to Reg and Cathy plus more.
I mean Reg and Cathy seem to have their legs run off and they also ride as well as also looking after their horses during the week. This year Kim at the last minute couldn’t attend so the pamper session for the ladies didn’t eventuate.
The auction was great fun above and of course below is my favourite breed of vehicle Porsche…
Below are some pictures taken by various people… Just click on the picture see a larger version.
We even had Steve Langley do is infamous Nuuuuu Orleeeeans rap song – always a treat.
Anyway I have rambled on for too long, hey if you see me out on the road say gday or hit me up on UHF Channel 40
Till next time, take care, yours in country music – Leigh
