From Music To Fun To On Fire To Car Racing and Everything In-between

It’s amazing how quickly time flies when you’re busy.   Australia Day, Recording songs, Website creating with Indexer and… being engulfed in a ball of fire

On Australia Day I had a great time!   I played at the Wangi Wang RSL out next to the beer garden and started at 12:30.   The place was packed with two groups trying to get tables and chairs in front of where I was playing – thank you I appreciate your following.
With time rolling on (it was 7pm) and people still asking for more, I finally said I’m buggered my voice is getting croaky and need to stop – I had played for 6hrs (instead of 4) with only half an hours break and was a ball of sweat BUT it was worth it as everyone had enjoyed themselves.

You know how they say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it… Well after doing the 2 posts on EQ & Compression I decided to stop mixing my album where I was and revisit some of the songs from bands in Melbourne I had worked on before Christmas – shouldn’t of done that 🙁
I listened to them and thought “nope –  I need to redo them not happy” groan… but never the less I am persevering and methodically working my through the songs again and remixing from the start.
So not all is lost and I have until 30th September to have the album finished and released so that it qualifies for the Golden Guitar period for 2018 – I know we’re only in February of 2017 and I’m talking about 2018 but I have to think ahead.

Last Saturday I decided there was a bit of a breeze and the temperature had dropped from 40+ to 36c so I needed to whipper snip the gardens before mowing and decorate it with glow in the dark garden pebbles so it looks great…  as can be seen from the photo above I shouldn’t have.
I was halfway through edging along the fence when next thing I know I was in the middle of a ball of flame.   I dropped the whipper snipper patted down my clothes and grabbed a Fire Extinguisher and put out the fire.   I don’t know whether it was the heat but I think the petrol lines melted and that was it.
I lost all the hair on one arm, leg & luckily that was it other than a sore eye, arm and foot – yes I was wearing thongs 🙁 oh and my goatee and moustache got singed and thats all I could smell.   All I can say is thank god I had a fire extinguisher close by else I would have been in big trouble as would the neighbours.

20 Years ago I was honoured with Life Membership of a race car series that I created along with the help of others.   This Saturday they are holding a dinner function to celebrate 25 years of the 2 Litre And Under Sports Sedans – makes me proud.   I also designed the logo plus, well I’m just wrapped that its still going.
Unfortunately I cannot attend as its this Saturday in Melbourne and on the Sunday I have to be in Lake Macquarie NSW for an Annual General Meeting involving elections. You may want to use ballotting software and hold your elections online.  However the 2 Litres will be racing the following weekend at Winton Motor Raceway near Benalla and a TV crew will be there to feature the 2 Litres – fantastic!
