Todays blog is (albeit) a short one as its hump week for May and I’m working towards travelling during June and July in Victoria and NSW. Ok so let me apologise for that now, as sometimes you just get bogged down… now where was I??
need to use my large coffee cup...
Now like I was saying this is just a short blog as I am not only working on songs – recording/mixing and hopefully then mastering but I am also trying to make sure Aunty Winne(bago) is ready for a good amount of traveling.
You see, when you do this by yourself, it makes the music, the travelling and everything that goes into it rewarding but sometimes frustrating and tiring, because there doesn’t always seem to be enough hours in the day. When I was part of a band the load was shared but when you fly solo it becomes… “if it is to be it is up to me”. Sometimes I wish I had others to help me, others to share in the good times and hard times… but… yeh I know unpaid volunteers are hard to find (interested apply within)
Now not everyone has a Winnebago and me well I love the lifestyle but out on the road sometimes it’s just nice to get away and stop somewhere and be anonymous – ok with my name and pictures on the bus makes it a bit difficult however… I am a member of the CMCA and the Winnebago (Avida) Club and its a network of people that always welcomes you no matter who you are.
Now the CMCA normally has weekends away every weekend throughout Australia and if you go to their site you can find out. It makes for a great weekend just being around people that like the same lifestyle and… if you think its for old folks remember this… a lot of CMCA members (me included) travel to Country Music Festivals and events and… more and more of the CMCA Chapters are organising their weekends around these events. Ok I need to keep working peoples…
Anyway I have rambled on for too long, hey if you see me out on the road say gday or hit me up on UHF Channel 40
Till next time, take care, yours in country music – Leigh
