One month One Song Challenge – Half Way – Compression, EQ and Automation

One Song One Month title logic pro my song

Well here we are, its the start of February and for me 2 weeks into the One Month One Song Challenge.   Now you might remember that where the challenge came from it ran from January 1st to 31st but… I started on the 15th of January so… I’m behind again, well kinda.   Let me explain…

Need CoffeeBasically the first couple of weeks were taken up with getting past New Years and working on mums place and then of course doing the Lyric Video of my song Keep On Truckin’ as requested.

Ok so I started the challenge on the 15th January which means the last couple of weeks have been taken up with ensuring the instruments I recorded, I’m happy with and then starting the EQ process on all instruments including vocals, guitars, drums, bass and fiddle.

After EQ comes the Compression process on all instruments including vocals, guitars, drums, bass and fiddle.

After the Compression process, I like to do any Automation on the instruments including vocals, so that I can have say; the fiddle quieter or non existent when the vocals are being sung or lower the volume of another instrument in some parts so they are not so dominant – again this is a matter of choice for the artist which in this case is me.   This is what I am currently working through at the moment.

So as I said, I am halfway through this one song one month challenge and we’ll see what the end results are on the 15th of February, hmm thats one day after Valentines Day – so that means the title could be quite relevant if you’re into speed Valentines Day dating and waking up married or rather inappropriate ha ha – confused? the lyrics in good time will explain – but heres a snippet…
