2015 Crackin’ Cancer Three Waters Trail Ride… a great week of Horses, friends and of course Country Music!

Yep it started on Saturday October 17th and it finished on Saturday October 24th and sad to say – it is to be the last “The Crackin’ Cancer Three Waters Horse Trail Ride” – I’m trying to continue it though in 2016 fingers crossed, I just need an ATHRA Club to work with.

Steve Langley

Steve Langley along with the assistance of many others including trail leaders Alison and Jo made the week a success even though numbers were down – hey we still had a ball!!  I even trained a band “The 1 Finger Bandits” Laurie, Marshal & Roslyn Lindsay the wife of the late great Reg Lindsay – and they thought they couldn’t learn, I showed them 🙂

Tomorrow it begins The Crackin’ Cancer Three Waters Trail Ride Oct 17th – 24th

I’m sitting in Aunty Winne(bago) up at Glen Innes typing this and waiting for dawn to arrive so that I can make the final 10k dirt road trip to Three Waters High Country Holidays (you don’t want to try it in the dark in a motorhome – very narrow, tight bends and skippys)

Yep tomorrow Saturday October 17th it starts and continues thru to Saturday October 24th and sad to say – I believe this will be the last “The Crackin’ Cancer Three Waters Horse Trail Ride” – I hope I’m wrong about that.

Steve leading the mob

I’ve spent most of the day packing and then driving so this will be a short story rather than a book or volume suffice to say if you are around try and get out to Three Waters as it truly is as some say ‘a slice of heaven’ or as others say ‘gods country’ me I just think its fan bloody tastic country!

Three Waters… a great week of Horses, friends and of course Country Music!

What can I say… You have to hand it to Steve Langley and Kerry, once again it was a fantastic event and a week seems too short!

The legend himself - Steve Langley

Now of course I got there on the Friday October 18th after stopping for the night at lovely Wallabadah, as I had to do a kids disco on the Thursday night. It was great to get there and catch up with everyone especially Steve and Kerry.

This time I some friends of ours BJ and Heather came up with their camper trailer and camp ovens and cooked bush food well ok Pizza ain’t bush food but it tasted good. Even Gnome who’s been hitching with us since Megalong Valley came along for the ride.

Mr Gnome

Now this time we didn’t raise as much money as we would have liked because the numbers were down but some of us still dug deep into our pockets and of course Steve Langley did his Noo Orleeens Rap to the rapture of everyone – thanks Steve

Steve Langley I was a rappin

Of Course it seems that our little stowaway Mr Gnome just had to get into all the pictures I mean he’s been to Megalong Valley in the Blue Mountains, he’s been to Mudgee plus a few other places and now Glen Innes and Bullock Mountain and you can count on there being more!

The name is Gnome... Mr Gnome

Even friends that couldn’t make it for the ride drove down from Queensland just to say gday thanks Deb!! squeeze in ha ha…

friends with friends

A great time was had by all and I made sure the country music was being played day or night

catching up with friends

All in all the sad part is packing up at the end of the week and knowing you won’t see most of the people for another year, but I can’t wait until next years Crackin’ Cancer Three Waters fundraiser to be held and I’ll be there.

Well from here it is off to Grafton for the Jacaranda Festival and of course the Clarence Valley Music Muster for more Country Music.

Hey if you see me out on the road say gday or hit me up on UHF Channel 40
