Well the countdown to Christmas is on and I can’t believe its the 1st of December already. It seems like only yesterday that I played at Valhalla (yes true), celebrated Xmas in July and did the Cancer Fundraisers in September and October and now I’ve very few shopping days – hey I’m a bloke.
As 2013 draws to a close it’s been a somewhat interesting year. I still have to drink that horrible stuff water yep between 2 and 3 litres of the stuff!!! and maybe ok a couple of Jack Daniels and Bundy’s as well (nobody’s perfect right?)
Tho this Christmas just seems I don’t know just different and yet I don’t know why. I’ve lost a few friends including a mate Vince and his wife Blanche within a week of each other plus others.
Have you ever had one of those starts to the holiday season??? You know well this was how mine started… can’t wait I get to see Mum and I get to see my daughter BJ and get to catch up with some dear friends.
A few days to go before xmas the boat started to sink on its mooring as the batteries had died a little whiles ago and the bilge pumps stopped working – great. 2 new batteries later and the bilge pumps died hmmmm, then my car decided to die (your kidding me) but a mate lent me his ute. I couldn’t use my GPS as his cigarette lighter didn’t work so a plus for me I remembered how to get around without one – ripper!
All in all tho Christmas despite the setbacks turned out pretty good. I got to goto and still am at mums, I got to see my precious daughter BJ, I got to see a mate of mine Glenn and his wife Vicki who I hadn’t seen for a couple of years and I got to see Marj and Gary and play the guitar and sing till way after midnight so all in all as I said so far its turned out pretty good.
I have found that travelling and being in other states means I sometimes don’t get to see friends all that often and sometimes a year or more slips by which is not good.
My New Years resolution: Catch up with people I have forgotten to ring or see and try to be not so forgetful (will try honest) and yes I know what they say about New Years resolutions but I will try this year.
And so from me and mine to you and yours from somewhere in Australia…
Merry Christmas to one and all and a Happy New Year and may 2014 be fantastic!
Till next time – Leigh (and my daughter BJ)
