2014 A Year in Review??
As 2014 draws to a close it’s been an interesting year to say the least. I still drink that horrible stuff water and the odd Jack Daniels and Bundy’s as well (I’m allowed right?)
Funnily enough I don’t mind water although its spring water I drink as tap water here tastes and smells of chloride.
The year however has had it’s share of ups and downs but all in all it hasn’t been too bad, ok cept when I was in hospital after being knocked unconscious playing at a pub and bleeding from my head, ears and eyes – yep that wasn’t much fun. Last thing I remember was lifting my guitar over my head to take it off. But I won’t bore you…
I‘ve had photo shoots done…
I‘ve had Aunty Winne(bago) signwritten…
(and no they are not bars like a jail cell in the picture I’m standing on the outside)
and I managed to travel to many places – like Lightning Ridge and meet some wonderful people
and at the Blue Mountains doing a Cancer fundraiser with Reg (doing some duets) – thanks mate
and up at Bullock Mountain with Steve Langley (79yrs young) at another Cancer Fundraiser!
I‘ve met some great people and had a lot of fun times…
All in all Christmas and the year to date despite various setbacks has turned out pretty good. I got to goto and still am at mums, had xmas lunch with my brothers family…
and saw my gorgeous daughter BJ yesterday and had Nandos for lunch.
I‘ll be seeing a mate of mine Glenn and his wife Vicki who I haven’t seen for quite a while and I’ll get to see Marj and Gary and play the guitar and sing again till way after midnight so all in all as I said so far its turned out pretty good AND the New Year 2015 is only 9hrs away.
Ok wait for it… my New Years resolution: Catch up with people I have forgotten to ring or see and try to be not so forgetful (will try honest) and yes I know what they say about New Years resolutions but I will try.
And so from me and mine to you and yours from somewhere in Australia… ok and Dave as well
have a great New Year and hopefully we’ll meet at a gig or somewhere or…
if you see me out on the road say gday or hit me up on UHF Channel 40
Till next time, take care, yours in country music – Leigh
Well one minute I was at mums and also visiting my daughter and it was Christmas, next it was New Years Eve and on the telly mum and I were watching 2014 roll in and the fireworks.
Next thing you know January has finished huh??? and it’s February. So I help me mate move his mum to Melbourne and that way I can visit my mum and what a surprise… If you hire Platinum Removals, they make sure to treat your valuable belongings with the highest regard. mum loved it and so did I – well except the moving furniture bit you know sore back an all 🙂
Now somewhere in this month there was Valentines Day and my mate sent a dozen roses to his missus work – me? well I had committee meetings and damn I think I forgot Valentines Day…
Now February is over and so is Summer it’s the start of March and Autumn yikes!!! I’m trying to work out where has the time gone and what have I achieved or done??
I mean its nearly time to pack Aunty Winne and head off to the Crackin’ Cancer fundraiser up at Bullock Mountain. Ah yes a week of horses as well as I get to sing and play Country Music for a week and raise money for Cancer Research; ok so that pretty good. Hang on thats just over a week away man time to get busy, gotta get the laptop ready, the go pro cameras and heaps of other stuff – yikes.
Like I said in the beginning I am feeling a bit like Rip Van Winkle – times seems to have flown past and I don’t know what I’ve done or achieved, all I know is that I have been busy.
Anyway till next time y’all
As 2013 draws to a close it’s been a somewhat interesting year. I still have to drink that horrible stuff water yep between 2 and 3 litres of the stuff!!! and maybe ok a couple of Jack Daniels and Bundy’s as well (nobody’s perfect right?)
Tho this Christmas just seems I don’t know just different and yet I don’t know why. I’ve lost a few friends including a mate Vince and his wife Blanche within a week of each other plus others.
Have you ever had one of those starts to the holiday season??? You know well this was how mine started… can’t wait I get to see Mum and I get to see my daughter BJ and get to catch up with some dear friends.
A few days to go before xmas the boat started to sink on its mooring as the batteries had died a little whiles ago and the bilge pumps stopped working – great. 2 new batteries later and the bilge pumps died hmmmm, then my car decided to die (your kidding me) but a mate lent me his ute. I couldn’t use my GPS as his cigarette lighter didn’t work so a plus for me I remembered how to get around without one – ripper!
All in all tho Christmas despite the setbacks turned out pretty good. I got to goto and still am at mums, I got to see my precious daughter BJ, I got to see a mate of mine Glenn and his wife Vicki who I hadn’t seen for a couple of years and I got to see Marj and Gary and play the guitar and sing till way after midnight so all in all as I said so far its turned out pretty good.
I have found that travelling and being in other states means I sometimes don’t get to see friends all that often and sometimes a year or more slips by which is not good.
My New Years resolution: Catch up with people I have forgotten to ring or see and try to be not so forgetful (will try honest) and yes I know what they say about New Years resolutions but I will try this year.
And so from me and mine to you and yours from somewhere in Australia…
Merry Christmas to one and all and a Happy New Year and may 2014 be fantastic!
Till next time – Leigh (and my daughter BJ)
