We’re halfway through November, Remembrance Day has just passed and already Christmas decorations & lights are up, people are saying Merry Christmas and… can you play some Xmas songs next week – what???
Did you pay your respects on Remembrance Day?? I along with many others did. We wore our suit, tie and medals and ensured that the Remembrance Day service paid respect to those that had fallen in WWII and in fact all theatres of war. We also paid respect to those that survived like my neighbour who just turned 91.
School hasn’t even finished for the year and theres Xmas decorations up, houses have xmas lights going outside, trees decorated – amazing. I always thought the lights and trees were done on the 1st of December. I even have the first of my Christmas functions next week.
So as I said, next week I have the Wangi RSL Sub Branch Christmas function for which I am not only attending, I am also the entertainment afterwards. The week afterwards I am a guest of the Toronto RSL Sub Branch for their Christmas function.
I have also been asked to sing some Christmas songs as that would make it feel a little more like Christmas (but its only November). Guess I’d better go and find the Christmas tree and decorations so I’m not the odd one out. 🙁
Anyway I have rambled on for too long, hey if you see me out on the road say gday or hit me up on UHF Channel 40
Till next time, take care, yours in country music – Leigh
