Tomorrow it begins The Crackin’ Cancer Three Waters Trail Ride Oct 17th – 24th
I’m sitting in Aunty Winne(bago) up at Glen Innes typing this and waiting for dawn to arrive so that I can make the final 10k dirt road trip to Three Waters High Country Holidays (you don’t want to try it in the dark in a motorhome – very narrow, tight bends and skippys)
Yep tomorrow Saturday October 17th it starts and continues thru to Saturday October 24th and sad to say – I believe this will be the last “The Crackin’ Cancer Three Waters Horse Trail Ride” – I hope I’m wrong about that.
I’ve spent most of the day packing and then driving so this will be a short story rather than a book or volume suffice to say if you are around try and get out to Three Waters as it truly is as some say ‘a slice of heaven’ or as others say ‘gods country’ me I just think its fan bloody tastic country!
Now earlier I did say probably the last one as your host Steve Langley (above) will be retiring after this one. Something I know has been on the cards for a while but something that I still find a little sad. I guess because Steve is family and I know, that it has been his life for so long and it is a decision that he has not made lightly but as family we are behind what ever he decides as long as he is happy.
Steve is larger than life and he is a legend so come out and meet the man and listen to his stories hey they’re all true fair dinkum! Tomorrow I get to be back out in the bush, be around horses, around family and friends AND… I get to sing and play country music pretty darn good if you ask me!
So from Dave (the horse) and I, we’ll see you at Three Waters from tomorrow, cause I wouldn’t miss it for the world!
Don’t forget, if you see me out on the road say gday or hit me up on UHF Channel 40
Don’t forget to check for new blogs on the 1st & 15th of each month, till next time, take care, yours in country music – Leigh
