What a journey since 2019… August 18th was Vietam Veterans Day and I have a photo of me smiling then on the 21st at 7:30pm I hit a deer doing over 100 on my Harley on the freeway – it was dark and I didn’t see it so didn’t brake and I t-boned it.
Lucky for me 1st one on the scene was an off duty paramedic then an off duty Doctor they kept me going till the ambo’s got there – I was happy later as I lived fast forward I got COVID twice was rushed to hospital by ambulance and… but here we are in 2024 and finally the album is finished mastered and released as of the 2nd August 2024.
Even fell asleep working on the music but… I’m proud of the release, I’m proud of the 14 songs that I wrote the lyrics and music for, I’m proud of getting them to sound how I wanted and no matter how it goes or does I’m just proud to have finished it after everything that has happened over the last 5 years!
I owe my family so much for supporting me on this journey, through the accidents, hospital stays, getting COVID again hospital stays and passing it on to Debbie (sorry), also the late nights, long days spent in my room (studio). There are not enough words to say thank you, particularly to Debbie ❤️😘.
One sad thing is both mine and Debbie’s mum Bev, passed away last year and didn’t get to see this and yet they supported this emotionally for so long – thank you Bev and thank you to my mum and dad – Ray & Barbara (RIP) who I love and miss, for so many years of encouragement and support.
This album titled I’d Do It All Over Again, is named after what my parents would say to each other in that if they had to do it all over again they would.
Anyway I have rambled on for too long, hey if you see me out on the road say gday or hit me up on UHF Channel 40
Till next time, take care, yours in country music – Leigh
