It is a very different Mothers Day this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many people cannot see or visit their mums, including myself because the home where my mother is, is in lockdown, which means no visitors😢. This is despite what the COVID-19 government sign said…
Even though this picture is not from Australia, this was still typical when you went to the shops to try and find something for mum be it from a stall…
Or this one which is what is was like in Bunnings…
Now we all know what mums are like, they are the superwomen that seem to get everything done in their stride no matter how tough. They really do cover a huge amount differing job descriptions as the following picture states…
That pretty well summed up my mother when I was growing up and even as an adult as your kids no matter what age are still your kids.
Well I made Deb breakfast in bed which she must of liked as I found a picture of it on Facebook – yep that’s true😲
As I couldn’t visit mum all I could do was ring and talk to her which isn’t the same. Theres no smiles, hugs nothing.
I love my mum and as I said because of lockdown, I couldn’t visit and neither could my brother who only lives in the next town but the nurses said they put on a nice breakfast and movie for the residents – not the same though.
You only have one mum so make sure you talk to her and tell her you love her and appreciate everything she does; after all, they sacrifice a lot just for you, quite often more than you’ll ever know.
So to all the mums… Happy Mothers Day!!! hmm one day just doesn’t seem to be enough for all they do now does it.
Anyway I have rambled on for too long, hey if you see me out on the road say gday or hit me up on UHF Channel 40
Till next time, take care, yours in country music – Leigh
