Well it’s May already and we’ve been in lockdown or should I say Social Isolation with Social Distancing now for a while and today, yes today we are allowed to visit or have 2 visitors and well its a start.
This time last year we were getting ready to go on our Annual May Day cruise with about 12 others and all dressed the same – yes we were easy to spot so people hung around us and told their friend just look for the same dressed people; any way I digress… this year our cruise was cancelled due to COVID-19 🤬
ANZAC Day this year was a somewhat strange day as after 10 months planning we weren’t allowed to hold a public Dawn or Main Service due to COVID-19.
However 6 of us held a small Dawn Service without inviting or informing the public so that as per Social Distancing and Isolation no one would be present. I gave the service including The Ode with 2 laying wreathes 1 on the flag and one on the bugle and 1 assisting.
Later in the day Jason Becker, Tracy Vadnjal & The Newcastle Military Vehicle Club drove through in and around Wangi Wangi – thanks peoples
As it played on the external speakers people came to the end of their driveways holding candles. We finished and the residents remained for the Governments Dawn service being played over the radio.
As I said it was a bit surreal and different but the sense of community and spirit was still there.
Apparently they now consider motorcycle riding as light exercising so we are allowed to go riding – like duh what happened if you only had a motorbike what were they going to do fine you for doing some grocery shopping – unbelievable.
People complained because they were asked where were they going what were they doing and that they had to have a valid reason for going out – I found that hilarious as like welcome to my world 😂
Anyway there’s some sunny days coming up and I feel like light exercise might be the go, hell I might even do several hours of light exercise 😅
Anyway I have rambled on for too long, hey if you see me out on the road say gday or hit me up on UHF Channel 40
Till next time, take care, yours in country music – Leigh
