This Christmas is going to be different to virtually any other Christmas that I can remember. This Christmas I would say will most probably be a lonely Christmas for many as they cannot visit loved ones or congregate in numbers and maybe not even attend mass or church.
I’ll bet even Santa will have to wear a mask🎅🏼😔
The really sad part is that the elderly that are in a home or the young children won’t understand. Many activities have been cancelled, our borders have been closed which leaves the families dealing with a lot of stress.
Some children may be lucky and actually get to be close to Santa as in the picture above…
But others will be behind a plexy glass screen like the one that the Elf is cleaning below…
I know that Christmas in 2020 will be strange, I mean we have already seen people driving to their loved ones address, stay in their car and wave to them – I mean really, that’s sad and yes I know safe as well.
Could you imagine if Santa caught COVID-19, I mean what if he actually caught the Corona Virus and died… imagine the look on the kids faces 😭
I know we will get through this, both Christmas and the pandemic, we just have to do things differently that’s all… social distancing, washing our hands and having more alcohol on them than down our throats – oops sorry about that; and wear masks! kinda simple really.
Most parents want to maintain the status quo, they still want to have family holidays, they still want the family Christmas photo, the family Christmas lunch or dinner and we all can, just in 2020 a little differently.
Anyway I have rambled on for too long, hey if you see me out on the road say gday or hit me up on UHF Channel 40
Till next time, take care, yours in country music – Leigh
